"Flash" the Plush Toy Helicopter
In 2010 a competition was launched inviting all NSW and ACT Schools to enter the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Name the Plush Toy competition.
The joint ACT winners of the "Name the Toy‟ Competition were class mates Jakob Gilmayer and Cooper James Morgan from St John Vianny‟s Primary School. These students each submitted their colouring in sheet with the name “Flash”. The NSW winning submission came from Rye Park Primary School from Year 3 student, Katie Bonfield.
As a prize for their efforts, St John Vianney's and Rye Park Public School students had the opportunity to see the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter up close. Once the helicopter had made its landing at the school, the winning students that chose “Flash” were treated to a joy flight in the helicopter.
The name “Flash” was deemed fitting for the Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter plush toy, however it was a tough decision amongst other creative entries. Some of the other names included Southy, Chopper Charlie, Choppie and Rescue Henry.
All the entries and efforts from students and schools in the ACT and SouthEastern NSW region were greatly appreciated. Snowy Hydro SouthCare CEO, Steve Gregory says “our plush toy has proved very popular as part of our merchandise range but it has never had a proper name. Flash has already become a hit with kids at events”.

“Flash”, including Child Play at Colbee Court, Phillip.
